The Growth in U.S. Caregivers

As we continue to follow trends in aging and elder care. In hopes of understanding the changes from COVID-19, we are unsettled by the increased number of unpaid caregivers in the U.S. More than 9.5 million unpaid and more than likely have received more focused training to improve the care provided. Some prefer medication over a holistic approach to healthcare. We find a mix of both can become the perfect mix to sustain a healthy transition. As caregivers, and without the proper training, your body and heart can work overtime.
Untrained caregivers can harm themselves and the person needing care. There continues to be a high staff turnover in assisted living facilities. Long Term care needs to be addressed. We are encouraged by the advancements in holistic health, and alternatives that are being developed internationally. A great place to start is to learn the basics of massage to increase circulation ad blood flow in the. feet and legs to their hands and areas. Healthcare and the education offered to caregivers are in need of help. There is limited content when it comes to becoming a caregiver and a list of questions that should be asked prior to accepting the responsibility.
